Congratulations on your decision to attend Cumberland University! We are excited to welcome you to the Phoenix family. As you prepare for your first day on campus there are two important steps that you will need to complete before your journey begins - registration and orientation.

What to Expect on Registration Day
1. Check-in - Memorial Hall
Tell us you’re here and complete your Emergency Contact and FERPA Form.
2. Meet with your Faculty Advisor - Memorial Hall
Your advisor will help you select your classes and determine the schedule that’s right for you.
3. Confirm your Student Email and Portal Access - Labry Hall
You’ll visit our computer lab and check your email and student portal to be sure you have full access to all the resources you need as a CU student.
4. Get your Student Essentials - Labry Hall
You’ll visit Student Life where we’ll snap a quick photo for your student ID and register your vehicle to receive your CU parking sticker.
5. Meet with Financial Aid - Memorial Hall
You’ll meet with financial aid to turn in your verification, review applicable loan information, and review your final financial aid package.
6. Meet with Business Office - Memorial Hall
This is your last step. At the business office you’ll pay your Freshman Fee and do a final check to be sure every step has been completed.
Orientation kicks off Saturday, August 17th and continues through Tuesday, August 20th with classes starting on Wednesday, August 21st.
Orientation is required for all first time students. Attendance at all events is mandatory so please make plans accordingly to be available.
Are you playing a fall sport? Fall athlete move-in day is Wednesday, July 31. Leadership Day is Thursday, August 1 and Athlete New Student Orientation is Friday, August 2.
We invite all parents and family members to join us for our Orientation Kick Off and a special orientation session for parents on Saturday beginning at 3:30 PM.
We invite everyone to stay after for our Community Picnic on Memorial Lawn.
Orientation is for your student which will include exciting events that are designed to assist your student in their transition to college life. They will have the opportunity to meet their new classmates and participate in small group discussions to foster intimate dialogue with their peers, faculty and staff.
Please note Monday and Tuesday sessions are for students only.
