Cumberland University is committed to cultivating a campus environment that is inclusive of all students, faculty, and staff. To this end, Cumberland University seeks to ensure an awareness, acceptance, and inclusion of the diversity of the campus by creating educational opportunities, raising awareness, and providing strategies and tools to foster an inclusive environment and inspire a spirit of unity.
Mission
A Diversity Office will increase access to higher education by advocating for members of our community and emphasizing the importance of diversity in promoting learning and development at Cumberland University. Our commitment to equity and diversity is the shared responsibility of students, staff, and faculty, and must be supported and guided by all levels of leadership.

Graduate Assistant for Diversity and Inclusion
Ms. Sookdeo as the graduate assistant will be focusing her efforts on promoting diversity education and genuine inclusion, collaboration within the CU community and friends of CU to achieve strategic initiatives, and create engagement for the student body surrounding this topic. Ms. Sookdeo reports to University Provost, Dr. William McKee.
