What methods are available for me to make my tuition payments?
The most convenient method is an electronic payment online via the student ePortal account at https://charlie.cumberland.edu/estudent/login.asp. Online payment can be made by e-check from a U.S. Checking account or by Credit or Debit cards – Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Students may also pay by checks drawn on U.S. banks and money orders in U.S. dollars by mail or pay in person by cash, check or debit/credit card.
Please mail payments to:
Cumberland University, Attn: Accounts Receivable
One Cumberland Square
Lebanon, TN 37087
Will Cumberland University accept checks from other countries?
No. All payments must be made in US funds.
What is the payment plan?
A monthly payment set up online to automatically deduct funds from a checking account, savings account, credit card, or debit card. The plan may be set up prior to the semester beginning; however the payments must be completed by the end of each semester. The payments are drafted on either the 5th or 20th of each month. There is an enrollment fee for each plan: $35.00 for each semester. There is no interest fee charged on these plans, however, if applicable, NSF fees will be applied to the account from Cashnet (Higher One) and Cumberland University.
How do I set up a payment plan?
You can set up a payment plan from your mobile device.
- Sign onto your CAMS ePortal
- Make sure you are in the correct semester (under Profile tab, change term).
- Click My Ledger under the Admin tab.
- Review for accuracy: classes correct? Loans/Financial Aid correct? Billing correct?
- Click Confirm Enrollment and pay on the bottom right (under your overall balance).
- On the next screen, follow the instructions to set up a payment plan
What charges can be covered in the payment plan?
Tuition, access fee, room and board, lab fees, graduation fees. You cannot include textbooks, housing security deposits, application fees, commuter meal plans, dining dollars or the freshman fee.
What is the “Student ID as assigned by Cumberland University”?
This is the first data item on the payment plan application. This number is located in the top right corner of your Statement and Schedule. It begins with an A and is 10 digits long. If you cannot determine your Student ID number, enter your last name.
What if I set up a payment plan for the wrong amount?
When a payment plan is submitted, the Business Office automatically receives an email confirmation from Cashnet. Cashnet has access to Cams and knows your balance due. If the amount is decreased, Cashnet will automatically adjust the payment plan. If the amount is increased, you will receive an email to agree to the increase.
I set up a payment plan and then obtained additional Financial Aid – what do I do?
There is nothing you need to do. Cashnet has access to your balance and will adjust your payment plan accordingly.
If my payment plan was set up on my debit card (or credit card), can I change it to another card?
Yes, but only if the new card belongs to the Responsible Party. Please go to your CAMS ePortal and edit your payment plan information.
If my payment plan was set up on my debit card (or credit card), can I change it to ACH – my checking account?
No. To change from a credit or debit card to ACH, a new agreement would need to be set up. Each time a new agreement is set up for any reason, another enrollment fee is charged.
I am the student and set up the payment plan with myself as the Responsible Party. Can the Responsible Party be changed to my parent(s) or someone else?
No. To change the Responsible Party, a new agreement would need to be set up. Each time a new agreement is set up for any reason, another enrollment fee is charged.
I set up a payment plan just for the Fall semester. Will it automatically renew for the Spring semester?
No. A new payment plan will have to be set up for the Spring semester. There will be another enrollment fee charged for the new payment plan.
