The mission of the Business Administration program is to educate students coming from diverse backgrounds in the fundamental skills, knowledge, and practice of general business in order to prepare them for managerial, professional, or administrative positions in service and/or manufacturing industries as well as to pursue entrepreneurial career opportunities or advanced degrees in business or related disciplines.
In this program, you will learn how to analyze scientific data and report your findings. You’ll be exposed to different areas of chemistry including general chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, instrumental analysis, and organic chemistry. Our program offers an overview of several of the different areas of chemistry. We also have several courses dedicated to scientific communication, programming, and data analysis to help students learn how to analyze their data and communicate the information effectively.
The mission of the Mathematics program is to provide each student a solid foundation in several core branches of mathematics (calculus, analysis, and algebra) and to prepare students to apply quantitative and abstract reasoning skills in advanced degree programs and/or careers requiring expertise in mathematics. Students majoring in Mathematics must take MATH 121 to satisfy the General Education Core (GEC) requirement in mathematics. Students whose mathematical background is insufficient for MATH 121 may take MATH 111 and MATH 119 as general electives. However, these courses cannot be used as part of the major. Students majoring in mathematics are encouraged to choose general elective courses so that a minor in a related field is completed. Students interested in mathematics teacher licensure must complete this program of study and the Secondary Education dual major. Candidates should work with an advisor in mathematics and an advisor from the School of Humanities, Education, and the Arts early and often to ensure enrollment in the required courses. Classroom Management (ED 432) and Applied Methods and Concepts (ED 433) must be taken the semester prior to student teaching.
The mission of the Marketing program is to provide students a strong foundation in general business content and a specialized focus in Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) marketing content through experiential learning as well as to equip students for meaningful contributions within their business careers.Within the coursework, students will engage in creative thought, critical thinking, and real world case study involvement. Graduates of the marketing program will be highly capable of achieving their professional goals while meeting the needs, wants, and desires of employers, customers, and society.
The mission of the Accounting program is to provide students a strong foundation in general business content and a specialized focus in financial accounting, managerial accounting, tax, and auditing, thus preparing graduates to accept an entry level position in accounting or to attend graduate school.
