CU International Student Organization To Host Diversity and Cultural Fair

The Cumberland University International Student Organization will host a Diversity and Cultural Fair from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 11 in Baird Chapel.

The event will consist of Pastor Darrin Reynolds opening the fair with a short speech regarding the importance of acceptance and building community. Attendees will be able to interact with different table presentations on various cultures. Presentations will be hosted by students and staff as they share their cultural perspectives. The event will close with a thirty-minute dance lesson led by FUTURO.

Event coordinator Ashley Kambeitz said that attendees can expect to learn about the diversity present on the Cumberland campus.

“This is an excellent opportunity to engage with other students, faculty, and staff who have diverse perspectives in addition to learning about how these perspectives add value to our community at Cumberland,” Kambeitz said. “Often, we think of Cumberland as a small Southern university but it is so much more than that. We all bring something to Cumberland’s culture and I think it is incredibly important for our students, faculty, and staff to see exactly how important diversity and inclusion are.”

The event will provide food and is open for all to attend. Please reach out to Kambeitz via email at akambeitz86@students.cumberland.edu with any questions regarding the fair.
