Memorial Hall Construction
Beginning Monday, June 6, 2022, construction will commence on Memorial Hall. A new entrance to the building is funded by the gift from Millard and JJ Oakley, which named the School of Humanities, Education, and the Arts. The project will expand the entrance to Memorial Hall, which includes stairs and an ADA compliant ramp, and the university seal engraved in stone at the main entrance to the campus’ most prominent building. In addition, plans are in place for remodeling Memorial Hall’s vestibule and expanding walkways around the central gathering space of campus for the community to enjoy. These expansions will make it possible to hold annual commencement ceremonies on the lawn, without the need for an additional stage setup, and are expected to be completed in the Fall of 2022.
