The Cumberland University Community Arts Council proudly announces the 4th annual Camp Fame (Fine Arts Matter in Education), a Fine Arts summer camp for elementary, middle, and high school students taught by local artists, musicians, and educators. Designed to sharpen skills in band, theater, and art, the camp serves as a launching pad for students wishing to participate or progress their skills in the fine arts in their respective schools.

“The Fine Arts helps lay the foundation for some of the most formative years in a child’s life, says Erin Rheinscheld, founder of Catherine’s Orchestra for All, a Wilson County non-profit promoting music education, and Camp Fame director. “With so many continued changes to the arts and education, we hope that students can find some familiar faces and an opportunity to focus on something they love that Camp FAME this summer.” 

Due to the growth of the camp, there will be a few changes this year. All campers, regardless of age, will stay all day, as there will no longer be a half-day for younger students. We’ve also adjusted the grade range for various camps in order to best serve the students. 

Registration opens on March 1 and closes on March 31. Accepted applicants will be notified by April 15 and emailed a packet of information including waivers, medical emergency, and contact forms to bring to an orientation meeting that will be provided during registration. The registration fee has been increase this year to $75 per student but families no longer need to purchase tickets to the Showcase held at the end of camp. This increase is based on the increased food and material costs. Limited scholarships are available.
