William Edgar and Frances Duke Green Endowed Scholarship

Description:

This scholarship was established in memory of William Edgar and Frances Duke Green by their daughter Mrs. Frances Green Oliver. The recipient must be from Tennessee and have a high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and/or an ACT composite score of 20 or above, or equivalent SAT score. The student must be majoring in Humanities or Social Sciences. The student also must demonstrate financial need. The scholarship may be received for eight semesters as long as the student maintains a full-time student status and maintains a GPA of at least a 2.8 while enrolled at Cumberland University. Mr. Green graduated from the Cumberland University School of Law in 1924 and was a regional director of the United States Securities Exchange Commission.
