Mrs. Ann Sloan, beloved daughter of Rev. W. L. Baker established this scholarship in honor and memory of her father. Rev. Baker received his Bachelor of Science from Cumberland University in 1930. At the time of his death in August 2013 at the age of 105, it was believed that he was the University’s oldest living alumnus. This scholarship benefits full-time undergraduate students with a preference given to incoming freshmen that have graduated from a high school within Wilson County, Tennessee. Recipient must have financial need and must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. The scholarship is available for all semesters approved by the University and supports tuition, fees, room and board, and books.
