The St. Philip’s Scholarship was made possible by a generous donation from Mrs. Laura W. Cooke. This scholarship honors the life of her husband, John W. Cooke, Jr., CU alum, who served as Chief Clerk for the State Senate of the Tennessee General Assembly.
Recipients must be a high school senior who is a member of the St. Philip’s congregation, who has earned a minimum HS GPA of 3.0. with a demonstrated financial need. The scholarship may be renewed provided the recipient maintains full-time status and a 3.0 GPA. The student recipient may receive the Scholarship for a maximum of four (4) years or eight (8) semesters. The student recipient will be recommended by the Rector of the St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Donelson, Tennessee.
Mrs. Cooke was an active member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. She served on the vestry, was a member of the Altar Guild, was a trustee of the Columbarium and for years assisted with counting the collection money. Laura was a member of the Canby Robinson Society.
