Mrs. Kathy McDearman began teaching in the Jeanette C. Rudy School of Nursing in fall of 2004. She has taught Introduction to Nursing, Dosage Calculations, Health Assessment, Adult Health, Adult Health clinical, and Health Assessment and Foundations labs. Before teaching at Cumberland University, she taught in the clinical area for Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville. Mrs. McDearman has clinical experience in telemetry units, intensive care units and the emergency room. She also practiced as a nurse practitioner in adult acute and primary care settings. Mrs. McDearman obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Tennessee Technological University in 1992 and a Masters of Science degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 1996.
