Hannah is from Kingsport, Tennessee and graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2015. She attended Northeast State Community College where she earned an Associate of Science in General Studies- University Parallel in 2017. Hannah transferred to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Programs with a Concentration in Neuroscience in 2020. In her free time, Hannah enjoys exploring new brunch spots, sporting events, and exercise classes. Hannah will be serving as the enrollment specialist for non-nursing community college and transfer students.

Mr. James Dennis Vick graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, in 2007, where he was a three-sport athlete and student leader. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Hospitality Management in 2012.  While a student, he helped organize, manage, and oversee a major dinner, auction, and fundraiser for the University and assisted with the Tennessee Food and Wine Festival.  While in school, he worked in the hospitality and restaurant industries.    He graduated from Cumberland University with his MBA in the spring of 2018.  Prior to obtaining his MBA, he was an Operations Manager for Peter Nappi, a luxury and fine Italian leather goods maker specializing in handbags and footwear in Nashville, where he also interned during his senior year of college. Mr. Vick currently serves as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Cumberland. Prior to this role, he worked as a Graduate Assistant and Financial Aid Advisor.  He also is the Work Study Program Supervisor, a member of the Admissions Committee, a FAFSA Nights Member Partner, and a Tennessee Promise mentor.  In his spare time, James enjoys playing golf, checking out the evolving restaurant and craft-brewery scene in Middle Tennessee, volunteering and helping others, and hanging out with his dogs.  He currently resides in Lebanon, where his family has lived since August 1996.

Jodi earned her Associate of Arts degree in 2019 from Cumberland University. She graduated from Cumberland in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science. In May 2021 Jodi joined Cumberland University as the University Concierge. She currently plans to pursue her master’s degree at Cumberland. When not working, Jodi enjoys being with family, working out, going to concerts, reading, and spending time outdoors.

Annah Smith is a Lebanon local who graduated from Friendship Christian School in 2016, after attending there since first grade. From there she went to Freed-Hardeman University where she graduated summa cum laude in May of 2020. She obtained two degrees: a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations, and a B.A. in Photography.  While she was a student at FHU she was involved in the leadership of her social club, Chi Beta Chi. She served as a community service representative, ads manager, and Makin Music director. She was also blessed to be able to study abroad for a semester in Europe. Her love for communicating with young people and their families was fostered during her internship at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Seacrest Studios during the summer of 2019. She comes to CU after nearly a year of working as a photographer for LifeTouch school portraits. Annah is excited to begin her role at Cumberland to help students grow to love it here!

Michael is a local resident from Hendersonville, Tn where he graduated from Beech High school. He then went on to run collegiate Cross-country and Track for Cumberland University. Following graduation, Michael joined the Office of Financial Aid after completing a master’s degree in Sports Management. He is excited to use his degree to help students achieve their goals.

Ms. Abby Pitts began at Cumberland University in fall of 2018 as the Director of Student Retention and TN Promise Support. She also teaches Foundations of Scholarship and Learning. Prior to arriving at Cumberland, Ms. Pitts served as the Associate Director of Financial Aid at University of the Cumberlands, where she oversaw reconciliation efforts as well as financial aid administration across all campus populations. In addition, Ms. Pitts taught Career and Leadership courses. Prior to her arrival at the University of the Cumberlands, she was the Advising Coordinator at Shorter University, where she coordinated all academic advising efforts on campus and worked with first year students. Her own advising efforts centered on ensuring success of the academically at-risk student population. Ms. Pitts’ experiences in assisting incoming freshman with financial aid completion, as well as advising students while completing degree requirements, fueled a lifelong passion for ensuring all students have the opportunity to reach their goal of being a college graduate. Ms. Pitts holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Marketing Concentration. Her graduate education is a Master of Arts in Leadership, which encompassed organizational leadership across disciplines. She has been a member of various professional academic advising and financial aid associations.

Reggie joins us from Lipscomb University where he served as Senior Director of Admissions and as an admissions counselor for many years.  Prior, he was a sales team manager for Dell and way back he was assistant basketball coach for Lipscomb.  He still serves as the athletic liaison on the admissions team.

Reggie holds a BS in Management and an MS in Information Security from Lipscomb.  This year he intends to finish his Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Abilene Christian University.
