Brooke Burns is joining us from the Trevecca Nazarene University Admissions team where she worked as the Communications Coordinator for 2 and a half years. She is from Mount Juliet, TN and graduated from Wilson Central High School in 2016. From there Brooke attended TNU where she graduated in December of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Business with a double minor in Dramatic Arts and Youth Ministry. She is also obtaining her Master of Business Administration in project management from Trevecca and graduates in May of 2024.

Throughout high school and college, Brooke was involved in different facets of theatre and music. She played flute in the wind ensemble and jazz band at TNU as well as the marching and symphonic band at Wilson Central. She was also involved in multiple theatre productions, including the Little Mermaid and Seussical at Trevecca and Into the Woods at Wilson Central. Since graduating she has also had the opportunity to set design for Trevecca’s production of Sarah Plain and Tall.

Outside of work and school, Brooke also enjoys singing and leading worship at her church. She loves to spend time climbing with her friends at Climb Nashville, and she is also a season ticket holder and avid fan of the Nashville Soccer Club.

Hannah Cole is an academic coach at Cumberland for the Millard and JJ Oakley School of Humanities, Education & the Arts. In this role, Hannah is dedicated to helping students succeed at Cumberland and thrive during their time at the university.

Before Cumberland, Hannah worked as a Graduate Assistant for Tennessee Technological University where she taught English Composition and tutored students in writing. At Tech, she earned her Master of Arts in English. Prior to that, Hannah received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Austin Peay State University.

Outside of her role at Cumberland, Hannah enjoys reading at home with her three cats, concerts, and movie theater popcorn.

Morgan Spivey is from Lafayette, TN where she graduated from Macon County High School in 2020. She then went on to attend Cumberland University. There, she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration in 2021 and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting and a minor in management in 2023.

While at Cumberland, Morgan was a Presidential Ambassador, Student Ambassador of the Tennessee Society of CPAs, and Student Ambassador of the Institute of Management Accountants. She was also a member of the Alpha Lambda Phi and Gamma Beta Phi Honor Societies. Morgan enjoys coaching softball, tutoring, and spending time with her family.

Todd and his wife recently relocated to Middle Tennessee from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He previously served 25+ years teaching 8th grade American History. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University where he earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts and earned a teaching certification from Millersville State University.

In Todd’s free time he enjoys writing music, hiking, and attending basketball games as a retired head coach. He looks forward to mentoring future students at Cumberland University.

Alexis was originally born in Fort Worth, Texas, but was raised in Watertown, Tennessee. Alexis is a graduate of Watertown High School. After high school.  Alexis received her Associates Degree in Secondary Education from Volunteer State Community College. Alexis then continued her studies at Middle Tennessee State University. Where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in History and Minor in Psychology

Alexis B.S. Degree in History, especially Military History, is influenced by her father, brother, and twin brother who served in the United States Marine Corps.

Outside of being an Enrollment Specialists for Athletes here at Cumberland. Alexis loves and enjoys raising her to pride and joy. Her daughter Isabelle and son Elijah. Alexis and her two children not only love going on a week’s vacation to the beach or the mountains. They also like to hop in the car and go on last minute road trips to unique and interesting places like Buc-ee’s.

Kari is joining us from Lipscomb University where she spent almost 4 years in Graduate Recruitment and Operations. Her specialty focused on improving graduate recruitment processes and training faculty/staff on admissions systems.

Kari has a Bachelor’s Degree from MTSU and all but her thesis completed in Applied Behavioral Analysis. Kari is a native of Nashville, but has lived in Lebanon for the past two years. She is happily married to her husband Aaron and has two girls, Scarlett (7) and Violet (6).

Hannah is from Kingsport, Tennessee and graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2015. She attended Northeast State Community College where she earned an Associate of Science in General Studies- University Parallel in 2017. Hannah transferred to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Programs with a Concentration in Neuroscience in 2020. In her free time, Hannah enjoys exploring new brunch spots, sporting events, and exercise classes. Hannah will be serving as the enrollment specialist for non-nursing community college and transfer students.

Jodi Sydenstricker is from Lebanon, TN. Jodi has been at Cumberland since 2017 when she started her academic journey at CU. Upon graduating with her bachelors, Jodi joined the Admissions team full-time in May of 2021 as the University Concierge.

In January 2022, Jodi was promoted to the Campus Visit & Guest Experience Coordinator. In October 2023, Jodi earned her MBA and started a new position as an Academic Coach and Instructor where she currently resides.

Jodi is a member of the 1842 Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Honors Society, Delta Mu Delta, and served as a Graduate Studies Representative for SGA. Jodi’s favorite thing about CU is working with the students and serving the Lebanon community. Jodi’s passions outside of work include attending sporting events, traveling, and finding an enjoyable book to read.
