Cumberland University is launching a social media influencer program for students, that will begin in Spring 2020.
Select students will be invited to promote the Cumberland brand on their personal social media platforms, such as Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook and YouTube. The university is in search of students that are involved in the university, and willing to share their college experience with their social media followers.
Applications are now open, and eligible students can apply until November 15th. To be selected, students must be a current sophomore, junior or senior with a 3.0 GPA. Students must have a strong presence on two or more social media platforms, have the ability to create fun and engaging content and be willing to publicly show their CU experience. Students will also be required to follow university social media policies and provide monthly social media reports to the office of marketing and communications.
The selected student influencers will each receive a gift card to the Pride Shop to purchase Cumberland swag, have their social media accounts and content featured on Cumberland’s social media platforms, receive social media training and best practices from the Cumberland social media team and receive certification as an “official college influencer.”
The purpose of this program is to be able to give prospective students a look at what life at CU looks like, through actual students’ social media channels. This provides a sense of transparency that is generally not present in the college admissions process.
Selected applicants will be reviewed by the Dean of Students and all applications must be submitted by November 15, 2019. Applications can be submitted here.
