Following a record breaking year of fundraising paired with record breaking enrollment for the 2023-2024 year, Cumberland University is excited to launch its Rise Together annual giving appeal for this fiscal year.

“Rise Together is the foundation for philanthropic giving at Cumberland University and with the overwhelming support from both the local and campus community, we are able to ensure the continued success, excellence, and affordability of Cumberland University for generations to come as we strive to eliminate barriers associated with earning a college degree,” said Vice President for Advancement, Courtney Wheeler.

This annual campaign is intended to bridge the gap between tuition and university operating costs. Rise Together emphasizes the continual need for student resources like Financial Aid, Academic Coaching, Career Services and Internships, and free academic tutoring.

Last year, Rise Together saw 1,160 generous gifts from supporters and raised $1.3 million which allowed a 50% increase in tutoring services, provided the chance for more than 500 students to  benefit from Academic Coaching, over 6,000 academic journal resources to be used, and 1,469 counseling sessions to be held. Additionally, Rise Together, supports student organizations and aids faculty and staff retention.

“We have students that come to us from many different walks of life and they come to Cumberland looking to achieve more. When we offer them support, together, we are encouraging students who are shaping our tomorrow and want to make a difference,” said Director of Student Success, Dr. Cindy Conley.
