Cumberland University Kicks Off Ignite the Vision Major Gifts Initiative with Online Fundraising Event

Cumberland University announced today the launch of its major gifts initiative, Ignite the Vision.

With Cumberland’s enrollment numbers increasing every year, it is necessary to expand and transform the campus to meet the needs of students. The Ignite the Vision major gifts initiative has a working goal of $1.7 million to enhance and transform Cumberland University.

Ignite the Vision will strategically focus on four key initiatives: Phoenix Scholars, The Phoenix Marching Band, The Phillips Dining Hall Expansion, and Memorial Lawn Enhancements.

To kickstart the initiative Cumberland University will host #IgniteCU, the university’s first online fundraising event for alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends to come together and support Ignite the Vision.

Beginning at midnight Monday, February 25 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, #IgniteCU will accept online donations towards the Ignite the Vision’s major gifts initiative with a goal of $10,000.

Vice President for Advancement Scott Lawrence is excited to launch this initiative with Cumberland’s first four-day fundraising event.

“We hope everyone who loves Cumberland will take part in this exciting fundraising event to support these important initiatives,” said Lawrence. “Every gift makes a difference. We encourage everyone that is able to give a gift, no matter the amount, to support the students of Cumberland.”
