LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University is excited to announce that the 40th Annual Phoenix Ball will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the university’s Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena.
Over the past four decades, Cumberland University’s Phoenix Ball has become Wilson County’s premier formal and social event of the year. Since its inception in 1984, the Phoenix Ball has raised millions of dollars for deserving students. “More than 97% of students at CU receive some type of financial aid and each year, the Phoenix Ball provides transformational opportunities for a number of students in need,” said this year’s chairs, Greg and Heather Landers.
Greg and Heather are both local business owners (Whitt’s BBQ and Hot Yoga Lebanon) who have been involved with the Phoenix Ball Committee for many years in the past. Greg, Heather, and this year’s committee have been hard at work for months planning the gala as it celebrates its 40th year. “We are honored to serve as this year’s Phoenix Ball chairs and are excited to see the impact that we make together as a community for the students who call Cumberland home. This amazing event has been transforming lives for 40 years and we know this year will be just as meaningful because of all those involved and their continued generosity.”
As the tradition of Phoenix Ball continues, so do many partnerships that make the gala possible each year. Hunt Brothers Pizza, an incredible community partner, will serve as the Phoenix Ball’s Presenting Sponsor for the second consecutive year. “Scott Hunt, the CEO of Hunt Brothers Pizza, and his wife Patricia have been generous and loyal supporters of the Phoenix Ball the past few years and just recently, Patricia Hunt was named a Cumberland University Trustee. We are so very grateful for their extremely generous commitment again to this year’s event” said University President Paul Stumb.
Individual tickets for the 2024 Phoenix Ball will go on sale on February 2 and can be purchased directly through the Phoenix Ball website for $450 per person. Recent Phoenix Balls have quickly sold out, so patrons are encouraged to reserve their tickets as soon as they go on sale.
