Courtney Vick Moves into New Role as Cumberland’s Senior Director of Annual Giving and Alumni

On July 1, Courtney Vick transitioned into the newly created position of Senior Director of Annual Giving and Alumni within the Office of Advancement at Cumberland University. 

Within this role, Vick will be responsible for the overall direction and implementation of the university’s omnichannel annual giving campaigns and alumni relations program. Vick will also act as an executive supporter of the Cumberland University Alumni Association (CUAA) and effectively serve as an integral member of the Office of Advancement team. 

“Cumberland is an incredible community of people – from the alumni, students, faculty, staff, administration, board members, supporters and donors – everyone brings a unique and valued perspective,” says Vick. “Throughout my time as part of the CU family, I have valued the expectation held for people to go above and beyond to help others. We are truly a community of servant leadership. I’m excited to carry on my new role as Senior Director of Annual Giving and Alumni and to continue to establish relationships with our phenomenal students and alumni.” 

Vick graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Electronic Media. She went on to earn her MBA at CU and before taking on her new role, Vick served as the Director of Career Services and Internships for three years and as an Instructor of Foundations of Scholarship and Learning for five years. She has previously held positions at Cumberland in General Education, First Year Studies, the Academic Enrichment Center, Residence Life and Greek Affairs.

Vick is an active member of the Lebanon and Nashville community and serves on multiple boards and councils in executive positions. She has also received multiple awards and recognitions during her time at CU, including being named as a “Woman of Wilson” in 2018.

“We’re excited to add Courtney to the advancement team,” said Scott Lawrence, Vice President of Advancement. “With her long list of skills and abilities, Courtney will be able to facilitate great opportunities for CU alumni to come together, and create successful giving campaigns that help support the CU campus and community.”
