Baird Trust awards scholarships to CU students

Fifteen Wilson County students attending Cumberland University are being awarded $30,000 in scholarships from the Baird Trust.

Recipients of this year’s academic scholarships, which come from a fund established by the late Mr. William D. Baird in memory of his wife, Alma, and his mother, Fannie, will receive financial support toward their pursuit of a nursing education at Cumberland.

The student recipients are:

From Lebanon: Krista Ferrell, Kayla Gann, Dacia Horne, Lindsey Huddleston, Deborah Jones, Connie Mullins, Kyrie Pody, Ariel Rowlett, Erin Spencer.

From Mt. Juliet: Tara Brown, Sandi Camacho, Casey Cole, Amber Green, Jeffrey Novick, Kathleen Williamson.

“I feel extremely honored to be a recipient of the Baird Trust scholarship.” said Casey Cole, a nursing student from Lebanon. “It makes me feel like the hard work I have put toward my studies is being rewarded”.
