An Open Letter from Executive Director of Enrollment Services, Eddie Lovin

Every fall as students return to our campus, I am reminded how much I truly love what I do. Watching students, hopeful for the future, begin their journey into the next phase of their lives makes me feel grateful and humbled to play even the smallest role in these moments.

As the Executive Director of Enrollment Services, the moment students finally step foot on Cumberland’s campus is like my Super Bowl. I get to see the high school students I’ve been communicating with for months, even years, finally reach their goal of officially becoming a college student.

As I enter my tenth year at Cumberland, there’s never been a more exciting time to be part of this amazing place. This fall, Cumberland announced record enrollment yet again, with 2,550 total students. This represents a 64% increase in total enrollment since I moved into my current position in 2015.

I am proud of the steps that Cumberland has taken under President Stumb’s leadership to prepare for this growth. We’ve increased the number of faculty and staff, improved our campus facilities and diversified our student organizations to maintain the best experience possible for our students. The future at Cumberland is bright, and I am blessed to be a part of it.

To all 2,550 students: I hope you realize how special this time is, and take full advantage of all of the opportunities offered to you at Cumberland. This is your time to figure out who you are and who you want to become, and all of us at CU are here to help you along the way. Remember, you will always be part of the Cumberland family and there’s always a time to rise.

Sincerely,

Eddie Lovin
