‘Tilting at Windmills,’ Faculty Art Show

The Adams Gallery at Cumberland University is pleased to announce the exhibition ‘Tilting at Windmills,’ a group show featuring works by the faculty of the Art Department. The opening reception will be held on November 17, from 4PM-6PM at Heydel Fine Arts Center, One Cumberland Square, Lebanon, TN.

Five artists will be featured in the show: Ted Rose, Damon MacNaught, Sally Govan, Scot McRoberts, and Peg Fredi. Many of the works are inspired pieces that explore unconventional techniques. The use of color and line is used as a driving force for the works.

The artworks by Ted Rose, Department Chairman, features abstract paintings, and other masterful color media representations. Damon MacNaught exhibits his expertise with glass objects, while Sally Govan displays graphic renderings of places she has traveled and used for illustrations.  Scott McRoberts, ceramic arts instructor, has hand built pieces, and Peg Fredi exhibits her abstracted digital paintings of her recently photographed dancers in Cuba.

‘Tilting at Windmills’ will run through December 5, 2015. The artists will be present at the opening reception November 17, to discuss their work. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9AM-4PM and by appointment. For additional information please contact Peg Fredi, pfredi@cumberland.edu.
