Tyler McChurch Memorial Golf Tournament Makes Donation

9/18/2017

umberland University has received another generous donation from the Tyler McChurch Memorial Golf Tournament.

Tyler was a standout student athlete for the Cumberland football team and graduated from CU with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2007. He tragically lost his life in a car accident in 2013 at the age of 29.

Now in its third year the Tyler McChurch Memorial Golf Tournament, thanks to the efforts of the McChurch family, tournament committee, sponsors, golfers and “Friends of Tyler”, raised another $58,000. The donation will assist Wilson County high school graduates who attend Cumberland University with a special emphasis on student athletes. The fund also helps support youth football programs in Wilson County that help develop athletes in the areas of character, skill and leadership and the Cumberland University Athletic program.

Representatives from the Lebanon, Mt. Juliet and Watertown youth football programs are joined by members of the McChurch family, tournament committee members and CU President Paul C. Stumb on August 30 for the check presentations.
