General Howard F. Butler Scholarship

Description:

The recipient shall be a full-time Cumberland University student who has displayed strong leadership qualities, a yearning for knowledge, and awareness in the area of academic study he/she has chosen to pursue. The scholarship was established in 1990 by the friends of the late General Butler, a 1934 graduate of the Cumberland University School of Law. Serving more than twenty years in the United States Air Force and the Tennessee National Guard, General Butler was also a practicing attorney in Nashville, Tennessee, and a Life Trustee of Cumberland University until his death in 1992.
