Jill began her nursing career as a staff nurse in labor and delivery which evolved into perinatal teaching and grief counseling. Her next position was at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as a Pediatric Oncology Nurse (bone-marrow transplant). During her time at St. Jude, Jill furthered her education by pursuing her Master’s Degree. After graduation, Jill took a position as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Leukemia/Lymphoma clinic. She has also worked as a pediatric cardiology nurse practitioner, a blood and marrow transplant PNP at Duke University, and as a PNP hospitalist at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Throughout her career, she has also had the joy of teaching nursing students and has taught at Bethel University, University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, and Belmont University. She also was a staff educator at St. Jude. Most recently, Jill used her APN skills as the nurse for the women at the Magdalene program at Thistle Farms, a program for those recovering from addiction and prostitution/trafficking. She is very happy to now be working at Cumberland University.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their dogs, cooking, and sharing two other passions, woodturning and their photography business. They are also “foodies”, so they are likely to be found anywhere in the Nashville area where there is really good, eclectic, fun food!
