Robin Retallack has been providing direct patient care for 30 years. Her work experience includes hospitals, nursing homes, and home health agencies in Tennessee and California, where she practiced pediatric, obstetric, medical, and surgical nursing. One of her goals upon graduation from the BSN program at Tennessee Technological University was to teach nursing students. Ms. Retallack returned to school in 2008 at Western Kentucky University to accomplish that goal after having a family. She has been at Cumberland University since 2010 after receiving her MSN in nursing education. Robin states that her career change to nursing education has been both challenging and rewarding, as she believes that students provide a never ending opportunity to see nursing from a different perspective. “The most rewarding experience of nursing education is seeing the new student progress from unsure to confident during the clinical experience.”
