Richie Marsh joined the Cumberland University faculty in 2020 as an adjunct instructor in the History Department. He taught for several years prior to joining CU, most recently at Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He earned a B.S. from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee, and a M.A. in history from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. His graduate research focused on post-Reconstruction American history and postclassical and colonial Mesoamerican history, narrowing on contact and relations between the Maya and the Spanish. Marsh is a member of several professional organizations, notably the Southern Historical Association and the Latin American Studies Association.
