Dr. Michelle D. Gillis is an educator with over 20 years experience in both higher ed and secondary education. For the majority of her career, she served in various instructional and administrative positions at a private HBCU and a community college in Florida. Most recently, she taught Advanced Placement English at an academic magnet school in Nashville.

Dr. Gillis has an MFA from Sierra Nevada College, a MS in English Education from Nova Southeastern University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from The University of Florida.
In addition to teaching, she also writes creatively under the pen name Michelle Donice and is a small business owner.
Dr. Gillis is happy to join the Cumberland Family!
