Bio:

Katie Hatton holds a Masters of Arts in Public History from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts in History from American University. Before coming to the Van Buren Papers, Katie worked at the Papers of the Revolutionary Era Pinckney Statesmen transcribing,  translating, and annotating documents related to the Louisiana Purchase. Katie’s research interests include 18th-19th century diplomatic history as well as the history of public memory and museums.
