Kalyn Pruett began her first year as a full-time assistant coach with the women’s soccer program in September 2020.
Pruett served the last three seasons as head coach at St. Cecilia High School in Nashville, creating the game schedule, designed and implemented practice plans, and organized and technical skills training.
As a player, Nashville, Tennessee, native played a big role for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles the moment she arrived on campus. She started every single match from her sophomore year on netting six career goals and one assist and four game-winning goals.
She shined on the defensive end, earning one Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors in 2015 anchoring the defense that allowed just one goal that week. Pruett was named team captain her junior and senior year as well as was an NCAA Division I Scholar-Athlete.
Pruett holds an “F” and “E” coaching license with the US Soccer Federation.
Pruett earned her bachelor’s of science in exercise science, physical education, and wellness from Tennessee Tech in 2017. She received a master’s in physical education, curriculum, and instruction from Tennessee State University in 2020.
