Joshua Baxter began as a volunteer at Cumberland University in June 2017, working in the Stockton Archives located in the Doris & Harry Vise Library. In August of 2018, he was hired and now divides his time between the archives and the library. He earned a B.A. from Trevecca Nazarene University, majoring in English Literature and minoring in Religious Studies. He has also completed post-baccalaureate studies in history at Aquinas College in Nashville. While a student at Trevecca, he gained archival experience working at the Southern Baptist Historical Library & Archives as an archival assistant. Mr. Baxter’s interests include American church history, as well as state and local history. He is a member of various organizations including the American Society of Church History, the American Association of State and Local History, and the Society of American Archivists.
