Bio:

Mrs. Markie began at Cumberland University in the spring of 2010 as adjunct faculty teaching a clinical course for the School of Nursing and Health Professions and became a full-time faculty member in the fall of 2010.  She primarily teaches Foundations and Nutrition in the SON, but has also taught FSL (Foundations of Scholarship and Learning). Prior to arriving at Cumberland, she has had broad experience in many areas of nursing including medical – surgical, critical care, nutrition, and nephrology.  She eventually received her MSN in nursing and became an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in Nephrology.

Mrs. Markie holds an Associate Degree, Bachelor’s degree, and Master’s degree in Nursing and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education.
