Ms. Ashley Corn was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2007 with a B.A. in Communications and a B.S. in Hospitality Management. Ms. Corn decided to pursue graduate school and moved to Honolulu, HI in 2007. She graduated with her M.A. in Communications in 2009. Ms. Corn states that her original goal was to pursue a PhD in Communications and teach Communications. However, she had her first child in 2008 and this changed her viewpoint on her career. Ms. Corn decided to move back to Cincinnati in 2010 and pursue a nursing degree. She was accepted into the Accelerated Nursing Program in 2010 at the University of Cincinnati and graduated from University of Cincinnati in 2013 with a BSN. 

Ms. Corn immediately started working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Cincinnati Children’s, which was her dream job. In 2014, her husband accepted a job offer in Columbia, TN and the family moved to Spring Hill, TN in August 2014. She began working at Vanderbilt in their NICU in 2014. In 2017, she decided to pursue a different area of nursing and accepted an RN position at Vanderbilt Behavioral Health. Ms. Corn worked in the float pool and loved learning psychiatric nursing. Ms. Corn’s main interests include the psychosis and detox units. 

Ms. Corn earned her DNP in Nursing Administration from the University of Cincinnati and graduated in August of 2019. She joined Cumberland University as an assistant nurse professor in August of 2021. She resides in Spring Hill, TN with her husband, her daughter (13 years), and her son (6 years). She enjoys traveling, the beach, fall weather, exercising, movies, and spending time with her family.
