Ms. Alicia Butler Fondeur graduated from St. Michael’s School in her native Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 2011. She was a member of student government, Model United Nations, National Honor Society and captain of the Varsity Soccer team. She went on to attend the Honors Program at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Managerial Economics and Global Perspectives, and graduated summa cum laude. While at Bentley University she was an active member of the Bentley Service Learning Center as well as many other clubs. She graduated from Cumberland with her Master’s in Sports and Exercise Science in summer 2020 and is currently enrolled in CU’s MBA program.
Mrs. Butler Fondeur has worked and volunteered at various nonprofit organizations. In 2011, after graduation she worked for Year Up in Boston, MA. She runs leadership workshops for students of all ages. Before attending Cumberland in 2019, she was teaching highschool elective courses and was a college counselor.
Ms. Butler Fondeur serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Cumberland and teaches Foundations of Scholarship and Learning (FSL) as well as the Sports and Exercise Science Practicum courses. She also serves as the Graduate Assistant for the President’s Office. Ms. Butler Fondeur has worked on various projects around campus such as the International Student House and the Cumberland Mentor Program. She is also a part of the Academic Integrity Board and the Alumni Board. Highly motivated to help others, Ms. Butler Fondeur is involved in servant leadership and volunteer service. She serves as a community liaison for those that would like to volunteer.
Her permanent residence is Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She has lived in Lebanon since August 2019.
