Caroline Haynes, a Lebanon TN native, graduated from Lebanon High School in 2017. She then went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness with a concentration in Secondary Education from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). During her time at MTSU she served as a Blue Elite Campus Tour Guide, working directly with prospective students and their families, as well as SGA Homecoming Director, coordinating events across campus for the student body.

Additionally, Caroline worked closely with University administration by serving on the Disability Issues Committee and aiding in the launch of MTSU Campus Life, an initiative striving to centralize student resources and increase accessibility across campus for all students. Caroline’s many passions led her to be involved in numerous student organizations within the School of Agriculture, as well as serving two years as Chapter President of Best Buddies, where she and the chapter were awarded International College Chapter of the Year. Caroline serves annually as a Wilson County Fair Board Volunteer, and resides in Lebanon with her husband William and their goldendoodle, Mack.

Courtney spent the past 20 years working at various stages of government, nonprofit, and electoral campaigns.  Courtney began her career managing two successful state house races in East Tennessee in 2002. In 2003, she was named the Tennessee field director for a national presidential campaign traveling all over the country during the primary campaign. She then moved to Florida to build and run the political and field program for the Jim Davis for Governor campaign. In 2007, she moved back to TN to help Karl Dean run a successful race for mayor of Nashville.  After law school, she joined President Barack Obama’s 2012 successful reelection campaign as the National Voter Protection Director. She moved back to TN to join Mayor Dean’s administration as the Director of the Office of Neighborhoods. In 2015, Courtney worked for the non-profit education organization, Project Renaissance, as the Director of Community Engagement before she became the Campaign Manager for Karl Dean’s race for Governor.  In her roles Courtney has been managed and/or worked hands on in every facet of a campaign including fundraising, communications, digital, organizing, engaging, research, and platform development.

Courtney is an avid runner, yogi, and dog mom to Rigby. She enjoys reading as much as time permits.  She has hiked all over the world including the rain forests in Fiji, waterfalls in Hawaii, and near her home in the great Smoky Mountains.

Mrs. Scott joined Cumberland University December 2020. 

Prior to joining the university, she worked at Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency as a Nutrition and Payment Specialist. 

She is married to her high school sweetheart Thomas Scott and together they have two children, Calie and Katelyn. And one dog, Jack.

Jenny Bennett is a proud Cumberland alum, receiving both her BA and MBA at CU. Jenny serves the Advancement Office as the Director of Major Gifts.  Jenny provides strategic leadership for the Advancement Office and is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding key prospects for the university’s philanthropic priorities. She collaborates closely with the Advancement team and University Administration to develop donor-centered fundraising strategies that will help advance Cumberland’s priorities and mission.

Jenny is married with two children, Will and Laurel. They both love Cumberland and plan to attend one day just like their mom!
