Cumberland University will welcome the class of 2025 to campus for New Student Orientation on Aug. 20 through Aug. 22. Parents are invited to attend their own informational sessions from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the first day of Orientation with a Family Watermelon Social to follow. Orientation combines informational panels with fun and engaging activities necessary in preparing freshmen for a successful college career.
Prior to in-person Orientation, incoming students are responsible for completing online modules on a variety of topics including: academic integrity, health and wellness, financial literacy, campus safety and more.
Move-In Day for all new students will begin at 8 a.m. on the first day of Orientation. Students will receive an email from the Office of Residence Life with specific instructions for moving in. Student athletes participating in Fall sports move in earlier than other students, and will receive additional dates and move-in information soon.
Parents of freshmen are encouraged to attend Parent Orientation on Friday, Aug. 20 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Running concurrently with Student Orientation, Parent Orientation provides parents with important information about Cumberland University and their role in their child’s success as a student.
Welcome Week kicks off on the first day of classes which is Aug. 23. The first full week of school will have a variety of on-campus activities and off-campus excursions intended to introduce students to each other, faculty and staff. Welcome Week is an important Cumberland tradition that launches new students into the college experience by building valuable relationships through interactions.
Cumberland University advises incoming students to check their email regularly for new information pertaining to Orientation, Move-In and the Fall 2021 semester.
