Fun Things to do in Lebanon
By: Grant Pody
No matter where you live, people constantly complain about there being nothing to do. However, these people simply do not put in the effort to find out what is going on, because where there are people, there is life!
In Lebanon, there are a ton of things to do on a day off. Lebanon is known as “Cedar City” and if you go to the Cedars of Lebanon State Park, you will find out why. Turns out, there’s only one cedar tree here in Lebanon, but the juniper trees in the park serve as great shade for a picnic, a run, or even for some exploration of rock formations. Best of all, it’s free!
Circle S Farms off of Highway 109 is another beautiful place to spend a warm day picking strawberries! Just down the street from the farm is Chad’s Winter Wonderland. When it gets chilly, load up a car full of friends, take some hot chocolate and enjoy the drive-thru holiday light show!
Recently, the Lebanon Town Square has gotten a serious facelift and is now home to a plethora of restaurants, shops, and businesses. You can stop in for a yoga class at Bloom Yoga, grab a cheeseburger at Town Square Social, and top it off with some milkshakes at the Main Street Mercantile & Creamery. In the meantime, you can easily complete your day off with shopping at any of the boutiques nestled close by. Don’t forget to take pictures of the new murals, too!
Lebanon is truly unique in that there is almost always some sort of seasonal celebration going on! Whether it be the Wilson County Fair, Octoberfest, the Mile Long Yard Sale (fall and spring), and the Christmas Craft Fair, there are lots of activities that are fun to attend and enjoy for us who are on a college budget. These opportunities are also a great way to meet others who call Lebanon home.
There is something for everyone in our small town, so don’t be afraid to try something new!
