The Heydel Fine Arts Center
The Cumberland University Fine Arts Council (CUFAC) is a collaborative effort between Cumberland University and the community intended to stimulate appreciation for participation in the arts. CUFAC encourages development of the arts - art, dance, music and theatre - at CU for the enjoyment and enrichment of the entire community. The Council enhances Cumberland University's role in providing educational and performance opportunities in the arts, not only for Cumberland students, but for the community as well. CUFAC also encourages support for the fine arts academic program, fine arts scholarships and the maintenance and expansion of the June and Bill Heydel Fine Arts Center and the Edward E. and Gemma Gause Adams Gallery on campus. The Council regularly brings a variety of amateur and professional performance groups to campus for all to enjoy and helps make the community more attractive by improving the artistic and cultural environment.
Events supported by CUFAC include: art exhibits in the Edward E. and Gemma Gause Adams Gallery; performances by Cumberland University's Phoenix Players, the Cumberland Chorale, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble; educational resources related to the arts for use in Cumberland University's Doris and Harry Vise Library; the annual Watertown Jazz Festival; the annual Nashville Symphony Orchestra Lebanon Community Concert and many, many more!
