There has been tremendous growth in the university's Music Program in the past few years. Music ensembles now include the Marching Band, Concert Band, University Jazz Ensemble, Cumberland Chorale, University Singers, the String Ensemble and various Small Ensembles. These ensembles are open to all qualified students, regardless of major, and scholarships are available by audition. If you are interested in auditioning for a scholarship, please fill out a scholarship information form.

Music majors can choose among four different areas, including a Fine Arts Major, with a Music Theatre Emphasis, a Music Major, and Music Education, Vocal/Choral Certification or Music Education, Instrumental Certification. (For information on any of these majors, click on the link to the left.) Students may also pursue a music minor. Private lessons, taught by outstanding professional musicians, are available for credit to all university students.

Music classes are small (excluding ensembles), so you'll get individual attention from our outstanding faculty. There is an atmosphere of cooperation among students and music faculty at Cumberland; you can come to Cumberland and be a leader!
