NOTES:

If a student enrolls with a Bachelor's degree or University Parallel Associate's degree, then he/she is considered to have met our GEC requirements; unless there are specific GEC course requirements that are prerequisites for courses in the major; such as for Nursing, they must have PSY201, PSY211, SOC221, MATH111, BIO111 and CHEM103 (please note MATH111 is only necessary if the student does not receive transfer credit for PSY205 because MATH111 is a prerequisite for PSY205). Please note BIO203, BIO213, BIO214, PSY205 and NUR210 are required courses for the major and not part of the GEC which every student must complete -- no exemptions allowed. Also, any student who enrolls to seek a BSN is allowed exemption from BIO111 if he/she receives transfer credit for BIO203, BIO213 and BIO214. No student is allowed to transfer in Nursing courses from other institutions, with the exception of NUR330 and Nursing elective. This can be considered on a case-by-case basis as requested by the student.

The Rudy School of Nursing accepts students three (3) times per year. Students must have no less than a 2.8 cumulative GPA based on a 4.0 scale. Students must be accepted into Cumberland University before they can apply to the School of Nursing. Each student must have completed certain hours and courses in order to apply for admission to the School of Nursing. Each student is required to take the Nurse Entrance Exam (NET) at the CU School of Nursing. Students are required to pass at the national average, national mathematics average and reading comprehension average.
