The Mission
The mission of the Office of Student Success and Retention is to provide total student development and support that enable students to be successful at Cumberland University. The Director of Student Success and Retention will assist in providing a smooth transition from high school to college for first-time freshmen, provide support programs for at-risk students and (through the utilization of all campus resources) supply opportunities for success for all CU students. Student Success and Retention also delivers Freshman Orientation to acclimate new freshmen immediately to the University.
Ms. Abbi Terveer is located in Labry Hall room 235 and can be reached at 547-1280. She is committed to providing assistance to students dealing with the transitions that inevitably take place throughout the traditional four to five year college cycle. Ms. Terveer has had professional training and experience as a personal coach specializing in life transitions, sport psychology and performance, as well as goals and decision making. She is devoted to assisting young adults in succeeding in their daily life choices.
