Dean of Students
Welcome! When students attend college, their expectation is that they will learn many things inside the classroom. Not too many students anticipate how much learning they will experience outside the classroom, as well. The role of the Dean of Students Office at Cumberland University involves promoting a safe, healthy, culturally sensitive campus. The staff members within the Dean of Students Office work hard to engage students, faculty, and staff in educational activities and events outside the classroom that promote leadership skills, cultural competence, and holistic student development. We strive to bring key on- and off-campus constituents to the table in an effort to develop a culture of civility and personal responsibility at Cumberland University.
Mission: The Cumberland University Dean of Students Office serves a central role in student learning and development. The services offered by staff members within this office promote a safe, healthy, and culturally sensitive campus. We seek to inspire students to embrace community service and leadership opportunities while pursuing intellectual, professional, personal, and spiritual growth on campus and throughout their lives. We accomplish these ends by establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships to achieve a seamless learning environment that links, aligns, and integrates student affairs and academic endeavors.
