Student Government Association

The purpose of the Cumberland University Student Government Association (SGA) is to give the student body representation in the government and services of the University, to establish a close relationship between the students and the administration, to promote a spirit of community, to exchange constructive ideas, to discuss school problems, to promote and aid in student activities, and to be the students’ voice of Cumberland University.

President:  Karli Collins

I am originally from Tarpon Springs, Florida and am a junior in the classroom (a red-shirt sophomore in athletic eligibility) at Cumberland University. I am double majoring in Athletic Training and Health & Human Performance while minoring in Strength and Conditioning. In addition to being the president of the student body, I am an athletic training student, student athlete (women’s volleyball), a member of the leadership committee for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, treasurer/secretary for Athletic Training Students Association, member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Cumberland University, the TATS (Tennessee Athletic Trainer's Society) representative for Cumberland, and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta.

 

 

 

Vice President:  Mackenzie Keele

I am proudly your Vice President for The Student Government at Cumberland University. I want thank my peers for trusting me as this role. I am proud to say that I am a defender for the Women's soccer team and in the one and only sorority one campus, Alpha Omicron Pi. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering at the Pre-K on campus, coaching u11 soccer team, and crafting. I am a Junior, elementary education major.

 

 

 

 

Treasurer:  Lindsay Kitson

I am a Junior Accounting major here at Cumberland. I am a member of the women’s soccer team and I am an all American. Originally I am from Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. In my spare time I am a math tutor. My dream car is the Mystery Machine. I am excited to be a part of SGA as the Treasurer. 

 

 

 

 

 

Secretary:  Desirae Burris  

I am originally from Payson, AZ. I play on the volleyball, currently red-shirting. My major is elementary education, and I am undecided as to if and what I will get my MBA in. I coach for Airborne (a club volleyball team in Lebanon, TN) and I love ice cream, long walks on the beach, and stormy nights. I am excited to serve on the Student Government as Secretary. 

 

 

 

 

Student Liaison: Caroline Curran

I am originally from Bradenton, Florida (right near the beach!) I am a senior getting my degree in HHP: Exercise Science with a minor in Strength and Conditioning, in hopes of continuing my education in graduate school. I am a member of the softball team, a Peer Mentor, and a Resident Assistant. I am also a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as the S.H.A.P.E. organization. I am proud to represent the student body on SGA as the Student Liaison.
