Policy Statements

Confidentiality Statement:  The information that you provide during treatment is confidential and will not be released to persons outside the Counseling Center unless you sign a statement authorizing such a release.  Exceptions to confidentiality as mandated by law are as follows: imminent danger to yourself or others, child/elder abuse, grave disability, subpoenaed records.  Information you choose to provide via e-mail or the internet may not be accessed and read immediately and cannot be guaranteed confidential.

Mission Statement:  The mission of the Cumberland University Counseling Center is to promote healthy student development during the college experience and to incorporate learning as a lifelong process.  To accomplish this, we offer a variety of services designed to assist students with their social, emotional, vocational, academic, and spiritual needs.  These services encourage students to become proactive, socially responsible, and accountable individuals within the community.
