Science and Mathematics

The mission of the Labry School of Science, Technology & Business (LSSTB) is to contribute substantively to the core curriculum through mathematics and the natural sciences and to offer Cumberland University students the opportunity to major in a number of modern professional programs such as business and information technology. The curricula are designed to provide a fundamental grounding in the liberal arts and to allow students to sharpen their powers of observation, analysis, and evaluation. In addition, the market relevant programs enable students to further develop communication, critical thinking, and decision making skills in order to prepare them for graduate studies and/or professional careers. This contemporary perspective on curricula is underscored with an emphasis on practical application, teamwork, ethics, internships, and experiential learning. (Revised 01/30/15)

The Labry School of Science, Technology & Business offers the following degrees:

  • Associate in Science (AS)
  • Associate in Arts Business (AAB)
  • Bachelor of Science (BS)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

LSSTB provides student achievement and other programmatic results such as enrollment numbers, graduation rates, etc., that are specific to students in business majors.  The Labry School of Science, Technology & Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP) in both its baccalaureate and graduate business programs.  As part of the accreditation process, student achievement data and program results for business students are reported to ACBSP.
