Residence Life at Cumberland University: Overview

The Office of Residence Life at Cumberland University is focused on providing a safe, living-learning environment that promotes a sense of community, accepts diversity, and encourages personal development outside of the classroom. Our staff is dedicated to creating collaborative and welcoming surroundings, while fostering the development of positive peer relationships that will benefit each resident for a lifetime. Residence Life offers a variety of programming to support this mission. Striving to cultivate engaged, contributing citizens to the community, Residence Life programming is designed to encourage each resident to grow personally and socially through all-inclusive, extra-curricular interaction opportunities.

A home away from home to call your own, possibly your first taste of independence and close to everything Cumberland has to offer. Live on campus and join the 400-plus other students who call campus home during the school year. Cumberland has five residence halls, including traditional-style dorms for freshmen and, for upperclassmen, apartment-style living in the Cumberland Commons. Included in the basic room and board costs, all rooms on campus are equipped with high-speed Internet access, cable, and new this year -- on-campus laundry facilities can be used free of charge!
