Biography

Elizabeth received her Bachelors of Art degree in Communication and Theatre Arts from the University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls Iowa. She obtained her Master's degree in Human Resources Development by attending both Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, and Webster University in Jacksonville, Florida.

Elizabeth's health career experiences include being a State of Iowa certified substance abuse treatment facilitator providing direct care services to individuals. Following this patient care experience, she gained skills as a training coordinator setting up certification trainings for substance abuse addiction professionals. Elizabeth later accepted a position as a Florida state-wide wellness coordinator with the Florida Health Department, Office of Health Promotion and Wellness. During this assignment in the State Health Office, her assigned focus area was minority health education, promotion and prevention.

Elizabeth's human resources career spans over fourteen years working as a human resources professional. She has worked as a workforce seminars presenter within a large city utility in Jacksonville, Florida.

Today, Elizabeth works with the Tennessee Department of Transportation TDOT in the Civil Rights Office. Her attention is on TDOT's certified small and diverse construction businesses. Elizabeth monitors construction contract compliance and logistics related to the Civil Rights Act and the Federal Highways Administration FHWA requirements in the delivery of completed road construction projects.
