Dr. Valerie King

 

 

Biography

Dr. Valerie King, DBA joined Cumberland University as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing September 2013. She enjoys connecting with students and cultivating a learning environment where life's experiences can be shared and appreciated. Currently, Dr. King is a Marketing Specialist at United Healthcare. Prior to her current assignment she served as the General Overseer of Marketing and Media at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Additionally, she is owner and Chief Knowledge Officer of Kovenant Marketing Group LLC, a Strategic Marketing, Branding and Social Media organization offering full service marketing support for non-profit organizations, ministries, and small business organizations.

She is an active volunteer in various community organizations in the Greater Nashville community. Dr. King is a graduate of Young Leaders Council and regularly volunteers for non-profit initiatives. She is an avid sports person with a strong interest in women's basketball, football, and hockey. In fact, she is a former team member of the Belmont Women's Basketball team.

Academic Background

Dr. King received her bachelor's degree and her master's degree from Belmont University. Recently, Dr. King completed her Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing at Argosy University, Nashville. She has also earned a certificate in Non-Profit Management from Tennessee State University.
