CRJ 211 Introduction to Law Enforcement (3)

This course is designed to introduce students to the history, philosophy and practices of American Law Enforcement, including the development and objectives of the American Police System with an emphasis on organization of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. This course will also survey career opportunities and qualifications required for entry-level positions.

 
CRJ 215 Introduction to Private Security (3)

This course is designed to introduce students to the history, philosophy and practices of Private Security, including the development and objectives of private security with an emphasis on risk management and enhancing security through both procedural and physical controls. 

 
CRJ 329 Criminal Evidence (3)

This course is designed to familiarize students with the basic concepts of criminal evidence. Emphasis is placed on understanding the nature, functions, and limits of the law regarding evidence.

 
CRJ 330 Crime Prevention (3)

This course is designed to familiarize students with the basic concepts of crime prevention. Emphasis is placed on understanding the history, nature, and application of crime prevention concepts.

 
CRJ 335 Interviewing and Interrogation (3)

This course is designed to introduce students to the principles and techniques of effective interviews and interrogations. 

 
CRJ 345 Supervision and Management in Private Security (3)

This course is designed to familiarize students with basic supervision and management techniques utilized by private security agencies.

 
CRJ 350 Effective Communication Skills for Criminal Justice Professionals (3)

This course is designed to reinforce specific writing and communication skills in Criminal Justice students.

 
CRJ 415 Private Security and the Law (3)

This course is designed to introduce students to the implementation of private security practices and the liability issues which attach.

 
CRJ 430 Hostage Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (3)

This course is designed to introduce students to the basic principles of conflict resolution and the practices associated with critical incidents such as hostage negotiations.

 
CRJ 433 Terrorism and Homeland Security (3)

This course is designed to introduce students to the basic principles of terrorism and homeland security.

 
CRJ 435 Industrial and Transit Security (3)

This course is designed to familiarize students with the basic concepts of industrial cargo and transit security.

This course is designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of emergency management.

 
CIS 170 - Introduction to Microcomputer Applications (3)
Provides a basic understanding of computer applications using Microsoft Office. Word processor, spreadsheet, database, and presentation package will be covered. Hands-on experience with personal computers using these applications will be given. Topics including Internet and E-mail will be reviewed.
