Symphony on the Lawn June 9, Cumberland University

As part of its mission to bring music to everyone in Middle Tennessee, the Nashville Symphony is proud to present community concerts at venues across the midstate.

Under the direction of Vinay Parameswaran, the program features selections from Bernstein, Gershwin, Copland, Gould, Grofé, Anderson, Williams and much more. As a prelude to the concert the Cumberland Arts Academy Suzuki Players and the Mt. Juliet High School Vocal Ensemble will perform. There will be an Instrument Petting zoo as well.

There will be food available from Blue Moon BBQ and Bruster’s Real Ice Cream or you may bring a picnic basket. So, bring family, friends and a blanket or lawn chairs, and immerse yourself in a summer evening of music and fun.

Tickets are $5 for adults and available at the Cumberland University Catron Alumni house, Cox’s Gifts and Jewelry, Del Webb, Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce and at the event. Admission is free for children and students.

The event is sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities, Cracker Barrel Foundation, and the Cumberland University Fine Arts Council. Pre-concert activities begin at 5:30 in the evening with the Symphony taking the stage at 7.
