CU Announces Dates for 32nd Annual Phoenix Ball and Patrons’ Party

Cumberland University is pleased to announce Saturday, June 6 as the date for the 32nd Annual Phoenix Ball. This always elegant affair will feature a cocktail reception and silent auction in historic Baird Chapel with live auction, fine dining and dancing to The Big Thrill in the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.

Wilson County’s only black-tie fundraising gala, the 2015 Phoenix Ball promises guests an opportunity to mix and mingle with an accomplished group of community and business leaders as well as a notable list of Cumberland alumni and local philanthropists.

Since the inaugural Ball in 1984, hundreds of thousands of dollars has been raised in support of Cumberland’s deserving students.

Held two days prior to the Ball on Thursday, June 4, the 2015 Patrons’ Party will take place at the unique Lebanon home of Leanna and W. P. Bone III. Open to Ball guests as well as those unable to attend the Ball, this year’s Patrons’ event will be a summer garden party offering delicious food by Jim and Gina Stradley of RSVP Management, Inc., lively conversation, and an eclectic mixture of musical performances.

More information about the Ball and Patrons’ Party will be announced soon. For immediate assistance with tickets or to learn about sponsorship opportunities, please visit the Phoenix Ball website at or contact the Office of Advancement at (615) 547-1269.
