Music Department to present Mozart's The Impresario

The Cumberland University Department of Music will present “The Impresario” on April 13 and 14 in the June and Bill Heydel Fine Arts Center.

The production is a musical comedy composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is a hysterical performance with orchestra and soloists about the politics and antics of an impresario, and the dilemmas that must be dealt with when trying to produce an opera.

“This is a wonderful story about an opera company working against all odds to prepare for a new season,” said Dr. Brian Kilian, Professor of Music. “We have a rich pool of talented student performers that are sure to delight our audiences”.

The students performing in the production are: Alexis Alduenda, a senior from Lebanon; Sarah Donovan, a senior from Lebanon; Jacob Young, a junior from Lebanon; Austin Smith, a junior from Mt. Juliet; and alumnus Deron Martel (13), from Lebanon.

Performances will be held April 13 and 14 in the June and Bill Heydel Fine Arts Center. Curtain time will be 7 pm. Admission is free, however reservations are encouraged. This project is funded under an agreement with the Tennessee Arts Commission.
